An Expression of the Community [hc]
Cincinnati Public Schools' Legacy of Art & Architecture
Photographs by Robert A. Flischel [OH]
Essays by Anita Ellis & Walter Langsam
Originally published in 2001 but adorned with an updated, jewel-toned dust jacket in 2014, An Expression of the Community highlights a breathtaking array of art and architecture originally showcased at the schools of the Cincinnati Public Schools system. Much of the collection was purchased from 1903 to 1974 with pennies donated by generations of Cincinnati schoolchildren. Building on this immense legacy, The Art League was reinstituted in 1995 to document, preserve, restore, and enhance the fine art of the Cincinnati Public Schools, and this dedicated group of volunteers continues this mission today. 224 pages
Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit The Art League, a 501C-3 nonprofit organization
