It took a village to make a book. This four-color, contemporary, pictorial documentary examines the unique life of the small village of New Bremen, Ohio, in the heart of Auglaize County, known to some as God’s Country. The award-winning Cincinnati photographer, Bob Flischel, had remembered New Bremen with affection from an earlier visit. "I looked forward to going back. Everything about the town made me feel good." The writer, Mark Bernstein, interviewed dozens of people for this text. His initial, historical retrospective made him the only choice to document the town at the turn of the century.
